Sometimes, what you THINK you're seeing, isn't what you're seeing at all and having a CULTURAL TRANSLATOR makes your visit MORE INFORMATIVE and MEMORABLE.

We can also arrange ESCORTS to accompany you to SPORTING EVENTS, CONCERTS which is especially helpful if you have children, or, if you want to partake in the EXCITING NIGHTLIFE OF DAKAR but don't want to go out alone (clubs start jumping around midnight here!), we've got you covered for that as well!

When you book your tours just drop a note if you'd like to see a concert or sporting event and if something is scheduled, we'll get back with you with the dates, details and costs!

DAY TRIP - SAFARI TOURS (2) BANDIA WILDLIFE RESERVES

Pick up at your hotel, B&B or the Port of Dakar if you are on a cruise ship but don't want to pay their higher per person prices. I normally start the tours AFTER the morning rush hour so our visitors can sleep in, have a nice shower and get breakfast. There's no reason to rush about and then sit in traffic smelling exhaust for an hour every where we go... It works out to be the same amount of time so just RELAX, get some rest, and trust me on this - you're on VACATION, remember?!

Besides... the animals aren't going anywhere; they'll be there when where we get there!

OKKKK so the park(s) are located about an hour and a half max, outside the city of Dakar. Since we'll be avoiding rush hour it should a one hour road trip and we can stop off and get some sandwiches and snacks for the road or to eat between parks to save some time and money for those short on time and traveling on a budget.

SIDE NOTE: I know a place that has GREAT chicken sandwiches and junk food!

I will point out various places of interest along the way, explain exactly what it is you're seeing and show you things you would have missed had I not been there! I'll also give you historical information about the country, the people and especially places of environmental importance along the way.

Basically: I will share information that you will never learn from a guidebook or google!

Once we arrive at the first park (herbivores first, then the lion park.... rrrooooaarrrr!), second.

For obvious reasons they aren't in the same place!

Normally around noon there are other people arriving from various hotels and individual families that are going on the safari tour as well and usually we can work out a deal to split the truck (10 places) and save you a little bit of cash.

The cost of the park fees, guide and rental of the safari truck at the wildlife parks are NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PRICE. Nor are drinks, snacks, road tolls or tips. They take credit cards on site as well as USD and EUR but with fluctuations in exchange rates, it may be better to pay in local currency. Prices change, coupons and discounts are offered from time to time and obviously we can't project into 2024 and beyond.

ALL SenegalStyle TOURS! costs are for transportation and our tour guides only. The lion park does NOT take credit cards, the herbivore reserve does.

After your 1st tour, as mentioned above you can have lunch or just grab a beer at their beautiful hand made wooden bar, get some ice cream and pizza for the kids.

WARNING: watch out for the monkeys! They WILL steal your food! lol! This little mama (see baby hanging around her waist?) got ahold of some of our French fries!

The photos above show SOME of the animals you can expect to see on your Safari. If you're a BIRD LOVER the photos you will get... the bird life is AMAZING and I have many great photos of birds (and all the animals!) over the years that I've taken with my cheapo Samsung cameras!

SAFARI TOUR #2 - LION PARK

This is the COOLEST PLACE and pretty much an open secret here in Senegal!

Most tour guides don't even know it's so close to Dakar and instead drag their customers 4 to 5 hours away to Fathala...

Not SenegalStyle TOURS! We're into efficient day trips at reasonable prices. I moved to Senegal in 1999 with three (American children) in tow... I HAD NO CHOICE but to find the BEST PLACES in and around Dakar to keep them entertained. And I did!
